Larissa Iapichino wins the long jump gold medal at the 2025 European Indoor Championships with an exceptional 6.94m leap on her third attempt! The Italian long jumper from the Fiamme Oro club beat Switzerland’s Kalin (silver with 6.90m) and Germany’s Mihambo (bronze with 6.88m), surpassing the achievements of her mother, Fiona May. “I’m absolutely spent—I feel like I’m about to faint; it was a tough, fast-paced competition. But it was amazing,” said an emotional Iapichino. “I believed in myself right to the end; I wanted to go out there and crush it. I beat her, I won the title by three centimeters...” After taking silver in Istanbul in 2023 and at the 2024 European Outdoor Championships in Rome, Larissa has finally secured the continental gold, dedicating the win “to everyone who shows resilience in what they do.”
