The magazine’s chosen title is “Generation Future”: a portrait of the Italian long jumper during her breakthrough year, marked by silver at the World Indoor Championships in Toruń, a new Italian record, and European gold in Birmingham—achieved with a seven-meter jump on her very first attempt.
In a lengthy interview by Francesco Paolo Giordano, Larissa reflects on the twelve months that changed everything, beginning with her failure to reach the final at the Tokyo World Championships. That disappointment sparked a journey of personal growth—focusing on the person before the athlete. “It is the person who steps onto the runway, even before the athlete,” she explains. Her motto, “I never die,” sets the tone for the entire conversation.
There is also room for life beyond the long jump runway: her relationship with her father Gianni (who is also her coach); her perspective on her mother, Fiona May—now viewed as a source of inspiration; her law studies in Florence; and her passion for tennis and Jannik Sinner. Then there is fashion, which Larissa describes as a game and a form of self-expression.
Fashion also takes center stage in the photoshoot by Laurent Bentil, featuring styling by Luca Venturelli and creative direction by Ivan Loiudice.
